A very good example of The British West Indies Regt. 1915 with the backmark J. R. GAUNT & SON LTD. LONDON ENGLD. The rather scarce button has the design of sailing ship within a wreath of laurel eith a small Tudor crown above and the title and date around the outer edge. The unit was formed of men who had come to Britain from the Carribbean, mainly to London. sep2/3
