The staff of HRH The Duke of Connaught in India
£45.00
A good group photograph, 10½ x 8½ ins,, showing ten uniformed officers and two ladies beneath a tented awning on an old card page. The card is damaged at the corners with some loss but the photograph is in decent order. It may date from as late as the 1903 Delhi Durbar when Prince Arthur attended in place of his brother, King Edward VII, who was unwell but I feel it could equally date from the period of the late 80s and early 90s when the Duke was Commander in Chief of the Bombay Army. oct21/1
