An armorial bookplate of John Warner, D.D.. 90 x 60mm, with an unusual crest of a bearded man wearing a conical cap. This is probably the bookplate of the John Warner [1736-1800], academic and classicist who received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Trinity College Cambridge in 1773. The motto COLLIGE DUM FLORENT  beneath a shield bearing a variant of the college arms.  feb18/3
