A well patinated leather jewellery / spectacle case


The pleasingly well patinated late Victorian or Edwardian brown leather covered case measures 6 x 2¾ ins and is just over 1 inch in depth when closed. The interior lacks the usual velvet pad for jewellery but is usefully of a size to accommodate a pair of spectacles. The catch operates properly and the lid has the London maker’s mark in gilt R H HALFORD & SONS, 43 FENCHURCH ST &69 ST MARTINS LANE.    oct10/1
