William IV button in pewter by Shaw, 22mm

An open backed button in remarkably good condition for one in pewter. The 22mm button has the royal cypher within a wreath with the royal crown above. The clear backmark is SHAW, LONDON. We are not sure who would have worn this button but the material suggests a military origin rather than court.     jul18/2  SOLD 19th December 2025
