180pp. Bound with: The Royal Kalendar for 1798 with Rider’s Merlin and Heraldry in Miniature with Arms of the Peerage, and A Companion to the Kalendar. Modern half polished calf  gilt with marbled paper covered boards, the binding very clean and the contents quite clean and with no previous ownership markings. Unusually the East India Kalendar is bound at the start of the book rather than the end. This volume contains one of he early East India Company lists before they became standardised and produced under the auspices of the Company itself around 1803 and as such are very scarce. They are not fully indexed like the later Registers and although all military officers are listed their regimental appointments are not shown. When this edition was published Lord Teignmouth was Governor General, The Rt. Hon. Lord Hobart was Governor of Madras, and The Hon Jonathan Duncan was Governor of Bombay. oct18/1
