A very good example of the officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment of Foot with the backmark J. W. REYNOLDS & Co. 50 ST MARTINS LANE LONDON. This is the pattern worn on the officer’s tunic from 1855 until 1881 when the regiment became the 1st Bm. East Surrey Regiment. The button retains most of the original gilt finish. aug16/1
