The 46mm base metal medal, possibly pewter, shows on the obverse a bust of the Rev Charles Wesley in a pulpit with the lettering REVd JOHN WESLEY, A.M., NATt 1703 OBt  1791 …WHAT HATH GOD WROUGHT  and on the reverse a bust of his brother with the lettering REV CHARLES WESLEY, M.A., … TO COMMEMORATE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WESLEYAN METHODIST SOCIETY AT ITS FIRST CENTENARY OCT 1839. The medal has been pierced for hanging or wearing at the top
