Corps of Guides. A Gold embossed regimental Christmas card

Queen’s Own Corps of Guides. A 6¾ x 4¾ins Christmas card in two parts held by a red and white bow, suggestive of a cavalry pennon.The cover is embossed in gold with the regimental badge and the inner section shows a tipped-in coloured print entitled The Action of |Landakai, in \Swat, 17th August 1897 with a facing page describing the print with names of the main figures [ Greaves, Fincastle, Adams, MacLean,  . The greetings page has a personal greeting to is children from Daddy.   An intersesting survical from a famous regiment, probably early 20th century, not much later than the action illustrated.  aug27/2
