DELHI. An attrractive 19th century coloured print

£25.00

Delhi. An unmounted coloured print published by William Mackenzi, London, Edinburgh & Glasgow after a painting by J. Ramage . The overall size of the sheet is 10¼ x 6¾. The lower edge of the paper is rather browned and the publisher’s name has been underlined. The image however is clean and shows a delicately drawn panoramic view of the city with the city walls running from the left to the great Jama Masjid or Friday Mosque. In the foregound a heavily burdened elephant is lumbering up a hill, its red khanposh cleverly catching our eye. Well worth putting in a window mount. apr24/2
