This copy lacks the title page, pp i to v  [We can supply these as photographs from out own reference copy] so begins with the first of the Contents pages v-lxv including folding shipping table for seasons 1824-25 & 1825-26, folding pay table, 588pp, including 8pp casualties (Bengal), 5pp casualties (Madras), 4pp casualties (Bombay). Later cloth, worn, spine cloth loose with some loss, rear board detached, old library label to front pastedown Royal Caledonian United Service Club, text block over-trimmed in the re-binding process with loss of some letters to the outer edges of  pages in the preliminary section and to page 5 of the Bengal List.  Fully indexed lists of all serving and retired officers in the three Presidency armies, together with lists of civil servants, Indian Navy officers (down to Midshipmen), government officials, etc. A feature of the Register is the list of annual casualties with date and place of death, etc. This volume was published when Lord Amherst was Governor General and General the Hon Sir Edward Paget commander-in-chief and the casualty lists include some officers killed in action in 1825 during the First Burma War.   jun18/3
