An attractive armorial bookplate named to Rovert Herries. probably 18th century, 65 x 98mm. A good clean bookplate bearing three hedgehogs. The trimming of the plate has just touoched the design lower left. Aspects of the plate [the motto Dominus Dedit and crest] are the same as those of the Scottish Baron Herries [Constable-Maxwell]. feb10/2
