HYDERABAD. An envelope, circa 1911, with the gold embossed arms of the Nizam of Hyderabad

A 6 x 4½ ins. envelope addressed to Mrs. Gordon, c/o Colonel L. A. C. Gordon, R.F.A., Trimulgherry postally used with two half anna green stamps of George V, probably c. 1911-14. The flap on the reverse has the full achievement of arms of the Nizam of Hyderabad embossed  in gold. The front is stamped Local and the size of the envelope is typical of those used for invitations. mar8/2   SOLD 8th March 2026

Colonel [later Major-General] Lochinvar Alexander Charles Gordon, D.S.O. [1864-1927] had commanded the 4th Brigadwe R.F.A at the 1911 Delhi Durbar.
