Double page route map, numerous plates of photographic illustration, x, 233pp. Original red cloth gilt, a very good copy with slightly edge chipped dust wrapper, signed on the title page by the author Penelope Chetwode no other markings. Penelope Chetwode dedicated the book to her husband, John Betjeman. She styed with ruling Indian families and had the impeccable background of her late father, Field Marshal Sir Philip Chetwode [later 1st Baron Chetwode], having been CGS and Commander- in-Chief in India in the 1930s.    oct1/1
