Mrs Cruickshank with liveried attendants in an open carriage, late Victorian

£20.00

An attractive 8 x 6 inch portrait of Mrs Cruickshank seated in her open carriage with two smartly uniformed attendants seated behind her. This is mounted on old card with the lady identified beneath along with her horses Nora and Daffodil. There is slight loss of the extreme top right of the otherwise good, very well toned photograph.    aug13/5

Although we cannot be certain of Mrs Cruickshank’s identity it is quite likely that she was the wife of  Alexander Walmsley Cruickshank, C.S.I., I.C.S who was Lieutenant Governor of the North West Province in the 1890s.
