The Viceroy’s House, New Delhi, 1930s

£65.00

Viceroy’s House. A large, 14½ x 11½ ins. artistic photograph with the central domed section of the Lutyens buildingto the left. The sepia toned, unmounted photograph unfortunately has no photographer’s credit. There are some marks along the lower edge, perhaps caused by damp. It came to us in a folder of material which had belonged to one ot the Marquess of Linlithgow’s aides de camp when he was Viceroy in the late 1930s.       may15/4

Provenance: By descent from Captain W.A.G. Burns, Coldstream Guards. [later Major General Sir George]
