Victorian bell pull of tapestry with gilt brass handle.

The 19th century tapestry bell pull with ornate gilt brass handle. The bell pull is 71 inches long including the handle and the width of cloth is just over 2½ inches. The gilt handle lacks one brass nut to the left side. It is lined with brown silk with an extra length [not included in the measurement, for attaching to the system of wires which would have led to the servants’ hall or kitchen. The m ajority of these one finds today, whether orginal or reproduction onlt have a tassle at the pulling end. dec28/1
