Windsor Court Dress, 25mm Vicctorian gilt button

|A very fine example of the Royal Household’s Windsor court dress button. The gilt button of large 25mm diameter, has the mounted design of  Garter Star within Garter with motto and Victorian crown   The button is in excellent full gilt condition and has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS, 153 STRAND LONDON. & 13 CONDUIT ST.  These buttons were worn only at Windsor. The dress jacket of blue with scarlet facings is worn by male members of the Royal Family and some other senior members of the Royal Household. The uniform can still be seen in use today at events like formal banquets. jun24/2
