65 x 50 ins when unfolded, not including the gap between the two sheets which fold together into book form 4to [13 x 9 ins] red leather boards blind stamped and titled in gilt to the upper board within an ornate cartouche with the royal arms at the head and the arms of York at the foot. The binding is generally worn, especially on the spine where the joints are cracked, part of brass clasp remains on the upper board but is lacking from the lower. The coloured map divides the county into the old administrative divisions of Wapentakes, dating from pre Norman times. jan28/1
