92nd Regt. of Foot, Gordon Highlanders. An excellent 25mm example of an officer’s gilt button with the backmark FIRMIN & SONS LONDON. This pattern was worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became The 2nd Battalion The Gordon Highlanders .The button retains the full original gilt finish and is exceptionally bright [Hence my inability ot avoid reflections in the illustration. The regiment was raised in 1794 by the Marquis of Huntley, later Duke of Gordon, oct29/14
