Folding map Central Asia comprising Bokhara, Cabool, Persia, the River Indus, and Countries eastward of it, [x], 181pp, xvi Index, [i], xv Civil Service List . Late 20th century rebind in half leather gilt, a very clean copy, map with a tear without loss, bound a little too tightly so the map does not open fully and needs adjusting, top margins rather over trimmed in the rebinding with partial loss to the page numbers in places, original printed paper front cover bound in. There is a little annotation – useful for instance in adding when a regiment arrived at a new station. Printed just about a month before the outbreak of the Mutiny in the Bengal Army this volume shows the Madras Army before the inevitable shock waves reached its own forces. It includes a gradation list of officers of Captain’s rank and above in all three Presidency Armies. jun1/1
