North India, Philips’ folding map from Bombay to Kirghiz

INDIAN EMPIRE. India, North. Folding, coloured map on paper, extending to 26 x21 ins and folding down into printed card covers 7¾ x 4 ins. It is in vey good, clean condition for a paper map with just a few small tears and holes at some folds. Extending northwards from Bombay to include much of Afghanistan and Tibet it is useful when studying the many conflicts in the North West Frontier, etc. It is on a scale of 80 miles to 1 inch. Although not dated, the inclusion of smaller maps of Calcutta rather than Delhi suggests it may date from 1911 or earlier.    mar28/3
